The beauty around us

I don’t know the name of these

These past months have seen me with numerous dental and periodontist visits and quite frankly I’ve not felt great – hence the lack of scintillating posts. However, Kerry and I recently visited a nearby community garden at Forrest Hill (Grow Forrest Hill), to see how differently other gardens are run, compared with our Devonport community garden (Ngataringa Organic Garden). While he chatted to members, I took photos of some beautiful flowering plants. I love nature and colour, and focussing on beautiful colourful subjects is a good way to avoid ruminating on one’s troubles I’ve found. I do hope you enjoy the images I’ve selected.

And, to make me feel jubilant, last night there was the most beautiful sunset. I do feel fortunate to live in such a lovely village which offers so much beauty. It is a joy to walk around this lovely area and enjoy the beauty around me.

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and New Year to all my readers. If you blog, I look forward to reading your posts in 2026.

  1. I am sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well. I hope that your dentist visits will end very soon.
The photographs are really lovely. I have no favourite,, but I especially like Mother duck. Having said that, the sunset from your living room window is quite magnificent. My best wishes to you and Kerry. And good health to you both.

    • Thank you Yvonne. The whole teeth scenario is linked to other things, and it is all rather complex. However, I am determined to be positive and not dwell on these issues. The weather is warm, dance class beckons this morning, a Xmas gathering this afternoon and a live comedy show this evening. A full day to enjoy. Kerry and I send our warm wishes to you and family.

  2. Thanks for the beautiful pictures, Vivienne. Sorry to hear about your tooth woes. I sympathise – and sadly can say I also empathise. Best wishes from Katrina and me to you and Kerry and we hope you have a healthy and happy 2026.
